Nano-Drilling
The Nano-Drill is an innovative and extremely compact drilling technique specifically developed for installing relatively short underground pipelines. Examples include heat pipes, water pipes, electrical cables, sewage, and fiber optics. Because this technique is trenchless, extensive open excavation is not required. This not only makes it cost-efficient but also significantly reduces disruption to the surrounding area.
What distinguishes the Nano-Drill from larger drilling rigs is primarily its compact size and flexibility. Where large machines often require more space and are less suitable for tight locations, the Nano-Drill can be deployed in areas where space is limited, such as urban areas or near existing infrastructure.
Nanodrill
SGGB has two variants of the Nano-Drill: a small and a large version. The small Nano-Drill, the 3004, can perform drills up to approximately 30 meters in length. And the large variant, the 5060TR, can reach distances of up to approximately 90 meters. There are also differences in diameter: the small Nano-Drill can install pipes up to approximately 90 mm, while the large Nano-Drill is suitable for larger applications, including bundle drilling of up to three 160 mm pipes.
A major advantage of the larger Nano-Drill is that it can perform bundle drilling. This makes it possible to install multiple pipes simultaneously, resulting in significant time savings and higher efficiency. This was not possible with the smaller variant.
Additionally, the larger Nano-Drill is the first fully electric drilling rig within SGGB. With this, SGGB is taking an important step toward a more sustainable and future-proof way of working.
The Nano-Drill thus offers a smart solution for underground infrastructure: fast, accurate, and with minimal impact on the environment. Ideal for modern projects where space, efficiency, and sustainability are central.
